U.S. Women’s National Team Returning to Lincoln this Summer for Nations League Tournament

The U.S. Women’s National Team will be returning to Lincoln as part of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, set to take place June 4th through the 6th at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Former Huskers Jordan Larson and Kelsey Robinson are part of the U.S. squad, who won the 16-team event last year, taking home a $1 million prize. On Thursday June 4th, the USA will take on Korea. On Wednesday June 5th, they’ll square off against Germany. Then on Thursday June 6th, the U.S. National Team will battle it out against their rival, Brazil.

“We had a fabulous time beginning our first-ever preliminary week of FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Lincoln last year, so we couldn’t be happier to do it all over again in 2019,” Kiraly said in a press release. “The community and fan support were great for our first experience. Since this year’s version will be held after the school year has ended for most students, we look forward to having even more families and young’uns cheering our women on as we battle for another world title.”

All-session tickets for the tournament can be purchased immediately via ticketmaster. Single day tickets will become available beginning February 25th.

Both Larson and Robinson won all-American honors during their time with NU before they joined the U.S. National Team. Larson, an outside hitter, has won two Olympic medals, winning a silver at the 2012 London Games and a Bronze at the 2016 Rio Games. Robinson, an outside hitter turned libero, was part of the 2016 medal winning 2016 team.
