MilkWorks is a nonprofit breastfeeding center, founded in 2001, in Lincoln, NE. We expanded to Omaha in 2015 with our Rockbrook Village location. We are in-network with all major private insurance companies and all Nebraska Medicaid plans for breast pumps and lactation care with our team of Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants. We also offer free and low-cost classes, free moms groups, free baby weigh station, breast care and breast pump supplies, and unique baby gifts.

Its clear families need us now more than ever. Due to the health crisis, families are discharging from the hospitals earlier. We are able to provide families with in-person or telehealth support and services, in a safe environment, away from doctors’ offices and hospitals.

We are continuing to support families in the following ways:

Telemedicine lactation visits: MilkWorks continues to see families for individual lactation consultations (by appointment only) with our IBCLCs. In response to the pandemic, we are now also offering lactation support via telemedicine, to help protect families. Mothers may schedule a telemedicine visit for any lactation related issue, including how to use her breast pump. Lactation services are billed through the mother’s private insurance or her Nebraska Medicaid plan. Virtual visits with our IBCLCs are provided without a copay for mothers with Medicaid and private insurance.
Shipping & Curbside Pick Up: We offer free shipping or curbside pick-up on all our personal use breast pumps. Families can find the necessary forms on the homepage of our website, www.milkworks.org. If families need other retail items, including but not limited to probiotics, breast pump replacement parts, or breast care items, they may call ahead to place an order for curbside pick-up.
Classes and Support Groups: We are offering our All About Breastfeeding class and Mom Talk (mom’s group) through Zoom. We have more virtual classes being finalized in the wings.
Baby Weigh Station: We now offer weight checks by appointment. Families may call to schedule an appointment and a weight report will be faxed to the baby’s doctor upon request.

We know one of the best ways to protect infants from any infectious illness is to continue to breastfeed. That, among all the other wonderful reasons to breastfeed, is why we will continue to serve to help create a healthier community for families.
