Former Nebraska men’s basketball guard Tyronn Lue was named head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday evening.

Lue served as an assistant coach for the Clippers under Doc Rivers last season. Previously, Lue spent parts of four seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, winning an NBA title in 2016. He is the only Husker to win NBA titles as a player and head coach. His player championships were with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2000 and 2001.

At Nebraska from 1995 to 1998, Lue still ranks among the school leaders in assists (432, fourth), steals (154, seventh) and points (1,577, ninth) despite playing only three seasons at Nebraska. Taken in the first round of the 1998 NBA draft, he was inducted into the Nebraska Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013. Lue’s No. 10 jersey was retired in 2017.
