After a series and season opening loss Friday night, Nebraska (3-1) completed a third consecutive win over Purdue (1-3) Sunday.
The Huskers earned a 4-0 win thanks in large part to another freshman, this one being Jack Steil, who made his first career start in the series finale. Steil went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs.
Also making his Husker debut was Jake Bunz, who tossed 3.0 shutout innings, with five strikeouts and one hit allowed.
Since the 6-5 loss Friday, Nebraska outscored Purdue 21-2.
Nebraska heads to Minneapolis, Minnesota, next weekend for four neutral site games, two each against Ohio State and Iowa.
